Hero Martial Arts is located in Palmetto Bay, Fl. Hero Martial Arts was established in April 2008. Although Hero Martial Arts is new to the area, Master Luis Cocco has been teaching Traditional Taekwondo & Olympic Taekwondo in the Miami area for over 15 years. Hero Martial Arts is a member of the Zen Mu Kwan Taekwondo Association and is affiliated with Lee’s Taekwondo School in Kendall, Fl and several other Taekwondo schools in the New York City area. Master Luis was a Head Instructor at Lee’s Taekwondo school for over a decade before he branched out on his own. Lee’s Taekwondo School is owned by Master Luis Cocco’s parents; Master Jose Cocco, 8th degree Black Belt & Master Leonor Cocco, 6th degree Black Belt.
Martial Arts has always been a family affair for Master Luis, both his parents being Masters of the Art, Master Cocco grew up practicing and teaching Traditional Taekwondo & Olympic Taekwondo. All of Master Luis’ siblings are Black Belts in Taekwondo and also grew up teaching Taekwondo in the South Florida area.
Master Luis Cocco and his wife Meileen Cocco, also a Black Belt in Taekwondo, established Hero Martial Arts in 2008 as the culmination of a life long dream and hard work to open a Taekwondo school and share the Martial Art of Taekwondo with the South Florida community.
Master Luis Cocco has over 20 years of experience practicing and competing in Taekwondo and over 15 years teaching students of all ages ranging from young children to adults and teens, and students with special needs. In addition, Master Cocco has been active in the South Florida community teaching not only martial arts but also sports and after care programs in a number of schools and community centers in the Miami/Kendall/Pinecrest area.
Master Cocco has over 10 years of experience coaching high level Sport Taekwondo Athletes. He is currently a Vice President of the Florida State Taekwondo Association and he is one of the few USA Taekwondo Level 2 Coaches in the State of Florida and in the Nation. Each year Master Cocco and his students compete in State, National, and International Taekwondo Tournaments. Master Cocco has coached a number of State & National Taekwondo Champions. |
